Rocklin County, California mayor found liable for injuries inflicted to his neighbor by doberman x labrador dog kept on his property by his daughter. The daughter was the owner of the dog, and both the dog and the daughter lived at the defendant's home. Liability determined based on actual knowledge the defendant had about the dog's dangerous nature.
2009 Settlement Washougal, WA. Settlement $1,700,000 Rogers was mistakenly identified by a Kennewick police dog who followed the wrong scent into the backyard of a private residence where Rogers was sleeping before being attacked.

 $500,000 settlement prior to trial German Shepherd attacked plaintiff making house repairs on property of defendant.  A  claim for punitive damages made by plaintiff which may have been the chief factor in settling for policy limits. There was a history of defendant's dog attacking neighborhood children prior to the incident in question. Physical damage to the plaintiff's leg was not severe, but permanent neurological damage was sustained.

Plaintiff tried to stop an attack on her two dogs by two pit bulls who entered her home for sliding glass door in August 2007. 2010 Civil trial   Rusk County, TX.      Verdict $7,000,000 The verdict stems from civil action against dog owners whose 2 dogs, an American bulldog and a pit bull mix dog, killed a 10-year-old boy walking to a friend's house in June, 2009. The dogs escaped from the property of their owner. Plaintiff's counsel argued that the defendants were strictly liable due to knowledge of the prior dangerous tendencies in these dogs.
